Monetaria annulus f. olgae (Lorenz, 2017)
Felix Lorenz dixit: « there is no name this is plan annulus; an ecologically modified freak form is the annulus variation from the Red Sea and East Africa, supposedly with finer shorter teeth and a variety of other minute features, in any case, a synonym of annulus ». Taille: 23 mm.
Another curious Cypraea annulus. The latter comes from Australia where the problem exists. This is due to the presence of iron oxide, (rusty!). Stradbroke Island seems to be the center of this disorder. They are found on the mud in the mangrove area. In this region the rivers are heavily loaded with iron oxide as to color the grass in orange!. Cypraea annulus often called f. camelorum, Rochebrune 1884 which is a mistake. Felix Lorenz dixit: “There is no name this is plan annulus; an ecologically modified form freak. It is the annulus variation from the Red Sea and East Africa, supposedly with finer shorter teeth and a variety of other minute features, in any case, a synonym of annulus”. Size: 23 mm.Size: 23 mm.
